Defense against a gunman intimidating you with a pistol at your stomach
- Twist outside, off of the line-of-fire; same-side grab the opponent’s wrist, and opposite-side grab the gun barrel.
- Guns are essentially thrusting weapons; they can only attack what is directly in front of them.
- Point the muzzle up and towards the opponent, using the gun barrel for leverage, to pushing the out of the opponent’s hand.
This “gun stripping” technique appears in several waza.
