Defense against an arm bar
- If possible, grab your opposite-side lapel to prevent the opponent from applying the arm bar.
- Log roll towards the opponent. This pulls your arm underneath you and out of their grasp, like a tank tread. When your elbow is below the opponent’s waist line, they no longer have enough leverage to perform an effective arm bar.
