Defense against a one-hand lapel grab with an incoming punch

  • Trap the opponent’s grabbing hand with your opposite-side grab; your arm and elbow will act as a temporary meat-shield.
  • Peel the opponent’s wrist off of your lapel, turning it inside into a reverse wristlock.
  • Twist outside with an outside elbow break.
  • Perform one of the following:
    • Apply an outside and finfish the opponent with knee kicks.
    • Takedown the opponent with ikkyō-omote.
