[Video of this waza fast and slow, from the side, and ideally, overhead]

Defense against a three-man attack; pursuit punching at each side

  • Simultaneously side kick one of the opponent at your side; hitting the other with a simultaneous (Kūsankū) pressing block and uraken uchi.
  • Upon rechambering, step across yourself, entering a transitional hook stance with an outside shutō block to defend against the forward attacker.
  • 7-3 outside the front attacker, striking the side of their neck with a tate-shutō.
  • Tenkan behind the forward attacker, using them as a human shield.

Notes

This waza is admittedly, more of a parlor trick than a self-defense technique, but becoming capable of awesome action movie fodder will greatly boost your self-confidence, and that will augment your other techniques.
