Defense against a knife slash or thrust

  • 7-3 inside. Immediately twist inside with an inside elbow break.
    • Ideally, this will dislodge the knife from the opponent’s hand, and send it flying.
  • If the opponent is armed, immediately perform a same-side grasping block to their wrist, to control the weapon. Do not let go.
  • Execute a takedown, if appropriate.
