Defense against a pursuit punch

  • Step your same-side leg back into a fighting stance, with an opposite-side downward shutō block
  • Off-balance the opponent with a front leg sweep, with a same-side downward shutō to the opponent’s neck for a takedown.
  • Grab the opponent’s wrist and neck to immobilize them of break their neck.
