Defense against a horizontal or downward club strike or knife slash
- 7-3 inside with an inside shutō block.
- Grab attacker’s wrist and apply a reverse wristlock.
- Hassō-shutō the opponent’s inner wrist to until they release their grip in the weapon.
- Knee kick to the nose, throat, or solar plexus.
