Yonkyū

The following knowledge, skills, and abilities are required to earn the rank of Yonkyū (4th class), which is expressed by wearing a purple belt. This is typically achieved after 20-24 months of total training time.

  2. Perform the required kata (Murasaki, Nihon no Kata no Bō).
  3. Demonstrate and explain the different forms of breath control.
  4. Perform 40 self-defense techniques.
  5. Demonstrate ability in kumite.
  6. Demonstrate knowledge of all previous qualifications.
