Defense against a pursuit punch
- 7-3 outside, with a simultaneous (Kūsankū) opposite-side outside shutō block and a same-side tate-shutō to the side of their neck.
- Wrap your same-side hand over the opponent’s arm, grabbing the inside of their elbow. Trap the outside of the opponent’s elbow with the back of your opposite-side hand.
- Simultaneously makkikomi-shutō to throat and reap. The opponent will fall into an arm bar and dangle awkwardly.
- Punch the opponent’s brainstem as needed.
