Defense against a front kick

• 7-3 inside, catching the opponent’s kick with a scooping block.
• Step forward and raise your same-side arm, pushing the opponent’s leg to throw them backwards.
  • This is a variant of aikidō's tenchi-nage, the Heaven-and-Earth throw.
